For most tobacco products, prevalence of use was significantly higher among males than females.(33-36) For example, in 2013, while nearly 5% of males had smoked a cigarillo in the last 30 days, just 0.6% of females had done so (Figure 4.3).

Prevalence of waterpipe use, however, was the same for males and females(37). Over time, the use of cigars/cigarillos has changed in parallel for both males and females; gender differences have persisted over time (Figure 4.4).
